A CHARTER ORDINANCE RESCINDING CHARTER ORDINANCE NO. 3, THE SUBJECT OF WHICH WAS QUORUM REQUIREMENTS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALTOONA
Section 1. Exemption. The City of Altoona, by virtue of the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, does and hereby rescinds Charter Ordinance No. 3 of the City of Altoona, Kansas.
Section 2. Regular and Special Meetings. Regular meetings of the council shall be held at such time as shall be prescribed by ordinance, but not less than once each month. Special meetings may be called by the mayor or acting mayor, on written request of any three members of the council, specifying the object and purpose of such meeting, which shall be read at the meeting and recorded in the journal of minutes of the meeting of the council. In all cases it shall require three of the five councilmember’s elect to constitute a quorum to do business; but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day and may compel the attendance of absent members in such manner and under such penalties as the council, by ordinance, may have previously prescribed.
